Enhanching Reading Comprehension through ELC Study Zone Website

Abstrak

Based on the situation, learning in schools should create interesting and comfortable classes for students. The use of new media in learning English, especially in reading comprehension needs to be improved. One of them with the support of technology. This study explains how the use of the ELC Study Zone Website in improving students' reading comprehension skills. This study uses a qualitative approach with classroom action research design. This research was developed in 3 cycles and involved 18 students of SMK. The data analysis technique used is based on the results of the cycle, interview sheets and observation sheets. The media used is the ELC Study Zone Website on the internet which can be used at any time. The results of this study were proven in cycle 1, the average score of students was 65 with a percentage of 38.9%, in cycle 2 the average value was 72.5 the student's score increased by 55.6%, in cycle 3 the average value of students 79.7 student scores increased by 77.8%. The findings of this study can be concluded that, there is an enhance in students' reading comprehension by using the ELC Study Zone Website. Teachers can use the ELC Study Zone Website as an alternative learning media, either in online or offline learning in the classroom.
