Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Siswa melalui Diskusi Kelompok Kecil

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the students’ speaking skill of the students of SMP Islam Ar-Ruslan especially in the Seventh grade.  Besides that, this research also has a goal to know how effective Small Group Discussion to improve the students’ speaking skill seventh grade of SMP Ar-Ruslan than before.  A classroom action research was used to do this research. In classroom action research there are four steps that must be done by the researcher, they are: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. To collect the data the researcher did three cycles in each cycles the researcher must follow those steps to get a valid data. The research was started in February 2020 to April. The subject of this research is 24 students at Seventh grade of SMP Islam Ar-Ruslan Tangerang. The result of the using Small Group Discussion to improve the students’ speaking skill at seventh grade of SMP Islam AR-Ruslan shows increasing of students’ percentage score: Starting from first cycle 25%. The second cycle 62,50% and the third cycle 91,67%.
