Teaching Writing Procedure Text Through Demonstration Method

Abstract

The use of demonstration method can be a one way to help students in learning wiritng procedure text. The  purpose of using demonstration method in teaching writing procedure text is investigated to find the effect of the treatment at the second grade students of SMK PGRI 3 Jakarta Utara. The form of this research is quantitative with experiment design. The population of this research was students the second grade of SMK PGRI 3 Jakarta Utara, while the sample consists 20 students The instrument used in this study was a writing test. The research findings showed that the mean score of pretest was 76.9 while the mean score of posttest  was 84.2. It was higher than t-critical at ? 0, 05 (t count   16, 9 >t table 2, 02). It can be concluded that there was a significant difference between were taught before using demonstration method and after using demonstration method to the second grade students of SMK PGRI 3 Jakarta Utara.
