Enhancing Students’ Writing Ability using Wattpad

Abstract

Writing becomes one of the most important communications. Writing is able to share the information and express the intention. Writing also became the big role in education. The problem of writing is the students do not know how to how to arrange or create the good sentence using correct grammar and appropriate vocabulary. It became the reseacher’s reason to conduct the research at SMA Cikal Harapan II using wattpad as the media and blended learning to enhance the students’ writing ability. The students of this study were 20, which is used observation, test, and interview in three cycles. In this research, the researcher got the result that the percentage of writing the score in cycle one 55% were passed, in the cycle two 80% were passed and in the cycle three 100%. The enhancement of the result in every cycle is around 20%. Based on the data above, it can be concluded that using wattpad as a media to enhance the students’ writing ability is success.
